Which iPhones work
Duo Widgets works on any iPhone with iOS 18 or later. The Extra Large size needs iOS 27. We design each widget for the iPhone Duo first.
Add a widget to the Home Screen
- Open Duo Widgets once, and allow the access that you want the widgets to use.
- Touch and hold an empty part of the Home Screen.
- Tap Edit, then tap Add Widget.
- Find Duo Widgets, then pick a widget and a size.
- Tap Add Widget.
Add a widget to the Lock Screen
- Touch and hold the Lock Screen.
- Tap Customize, then tap Lock Screen.
- Tap the row under the time.
- Find Duo Widgets, then tap a widget.
- Tap Done.
Change a widget
- Touch and hold the widget on the Home Screen.
- Tap Edit Widget.
- Pick a design or a color, then tap outside the widget.
Some widgets have nothing to change, so they show no Edit Widget item.
Make your own design
You can make your own design for the Fold Clock, Rings, and Status Board widgets. The free version lets you try every choice. Pro saves your designs.
- Open Duo Widgets and tap My Designs.
- Tap the + button, then tap New clock, New Rings design, or New Status Board design.
- Choose the look that you want, give it a name, and save it.
- On the Home Screen, touch and hold the widget, tap Edit Widget, then pick your design.
A Live Activity stops after 8 hours
iOS shows a Live Activity for up to 8 hours. After that, iOS ends it. To see it again, start it again in Duo Widgets.
Start the Market Bell within 8 hours of the bell. It counts down to the bell and ends there.
AirPods and Apple Watch do not show in Batteries
AirPods and Apple Watch share their battery level only with Apple's own Batteries widget. Apple does not let other apps read it.
The Duo Widgets Batteries widget shows this iPhone, your game controllers, and Bluetooth devices that share their battery level, such as headphones and keyboards. To see Bluetooth devices, open Duo Widgets, tap Settings, and turn on Show Bluetooth devices.
Restore Pro, or cancel it
To get Pro back on a new iPhone, or after you install the app again, open Duo Widgets, tap Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account that bought Pro.
Caution: to stop the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current period ends.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Duo Widgets, then tap Cancel Subscription.
Lifetime is one purchase. It does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. Apple handles every payment and every refund. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Weather outside the United States
In the United States, the forecast and weather alerts come from the National Weather Service. The UV index comes from the EPA, and air quality comes from AirNow.
Outside the United States, the forecast, UV, air pressure, and weather alerts come from Apple Weather (WeatherKit). Air quality shows in the United States only. The clock, steps, and calendar widgets work everywhere.
A widget is stuck after an update
Sometimes iOS keeps an old copy of a widget after an app update. To fix it, remove the widget and add it again.
- Touch and hold the widget.
- Tap Remove Widget.
- Add the widget again. See "Add a widget to the Home Screen" above.
A widget shows old numbers
iOS decides how often a widget updates. To update now, open Duo Widgets, tap Settings, and tap Update now.
What each permission is for
Each permission is optional. A widget uses only what you allow. You can change each permission in the iPhone Settings app.
- Location, rounded to about 1 km: your local forecast, sun times, UV, air quality, and weather alerts.
- Apple Health: your steps, distance, flights, active calories, walking speed, step length, and steadiness. The app only reads these numbers.
- Motion and Fitness: the iPhone's step counter and barometer, for your steps and the air pressure.
- Calendar: your next events on the clock and day widgets. The app only reads your calendar.
- Bluetooth: the battery level of your connected devices, for the Batteries widget. The app reads nothing else.
